Bike Year Model from Serial Number??

Can a bike's year model be determined from its serial number? My Corsa has two numbers on the BB:

FE-5BG08 on the drive side
FE6D0071 on the other side

Can anybody tell me the year model?

I think the first two numbers ('06,'07, etc.) denote the year of manufacture. I recently purchased an '08 Giro ATT 20 and emailed Bacchetta with the same question and that's what they came back with.

    Blue Giro 700
    Mango Giro ATT 700
    Giant Trance 29er X1
    Giant Reign X1
    Rans Citi

Thanks Ron. So what are the 'first two numbers' in mine? I see an 08 at the end of one SN, a 6 near the beginning of the other......does this look like the format of your serial number(s)?

I apologize for taking so long to reply. I just got back from a long trip to Moab. Your format seems to be slightly different from mine. My # on the left side starts out F06xxxxxxx. It's different on my Giro ATT which I bought used recently. In that case the numbers are on the underside of the frame on the steering tube. FE8xxxxxx for instance. When I queried Bacchetta on that bike they told me it was an '08. If you haven't figured it out yet try contacting Bacchetta.
