I'm new to riding a recumbent, I have only 1200 miles on my new (rebuilt) Corsa. I was just thinking if I could get 6000 miles on a chin on my diamond bike can I get 2 1/2 times that on my Bacchetta with the chain being close to 2 1/2 time the length. Just wanted to ask a crazy question. Thanks

I don’t know if you’ll get 2 1/2 times the life, but, definitely longer than a diamond from. My mtb gets 2 chains a year because it takes abuse all year long on Cape Cod. My Ti Aero gets one every 2-3 years because I only ride it in nice weather above 60 degrees.

I think that theory should be valid, but my upright bikes were 8 sprockets and less, while my recumbents are 9 sprockets, so it is hard to know whether I am getting a linear increase in chain life on the recumbents. I think I get a few thousand miles out of a recumbent chain. I don't use an odometer, so I'm not really sure.
