Warning to those using welded risers

My welded riser broke at the weld.  Luckily I had stopped to walk past a bad section of road when the riser completely sheared off at the weld.  I hate to think what might have happened had I been riding at the time of failure.  Mark Power"s recommendation is to get a forged stem.  He quit making them about two years ago for fear of them breaking.

Bacchetta has recommended for several years that riders ditch the single piece goose neck riser and go with the updated riser plus separate stem configuration. Too many riders are yanking on their handlebars. Don’t yank on your handlebars people.

Yow! That's it, I'm starting tonight on carbon tillers/risers for my bikes!

    (I'm pretty sure that's not an over-reaction.)

Does the 2 piece riser/stem shown in the parts list come with the stem and what length? I’d like to duplicate the gooseneck dimensions as closely as possible

They use to have 3 or 4 different stems available at different angles. Call Jeremy at Bacchetta and I’m sure he will fix you up.
