40T on an Aero?

Does any know whether a Ti Aero can use a 40T large cassette sprocket? I know Dan uses a 36 on his Aero.

Shimano's 11s mountain cassettes are supposed to fit on a 9s cassette carrier. So this looks like a minimally expensive way to change to 11 speed. As far as I can tell, 11-40 is Shimano's smallest 11s mountain cassette. The 11-36 and smaller cassettes are road cassettes and require a wider carrier (on a new hub).

Thanks!

Bill ... I'm way out of my depth re: a 40t in the back.  But I've got three different doubles upfront that allow me range on my bikes.  CA3 is a typical 50-34; CA2 is a 55-42 and the Ti is a 58-42 (which I use only on really flat terrain). At least this is how I handle different terrain.  I've thought of a triple upfront but, so far, haven't needed one.
