Euromesh seat repair/re-paint ?

I recently purchased another bike which provided some time off for my 2007 650c Corsa. The 7-year old mesh on the seat had ripped in one spot and it needed to be replaced.
Today I removed the old mesh and noticed that the paint on the seat frame in areas that are usually covered by the mesh has deteriorated/abraded down to the metal. Structurally the seat appears sound.

The seat mesh is $50 but an entirely new Euromesh seat is $275 an I am wondering if the seat Frame can simply be re-painted in these areas or completely.

Has anyone ever attempted this and what paint would be best ?

Never had to paint one, but I did make a clone of one out of conduit.

Sand it a bit to even out the finish, then use Krylon gloss black. Do a light coat and let it dry a day and then another coat.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll try to repaint it.
