5 day 515 mile ride
I had the honor of riding in this event for the second year in a row on my Carbon Aero 2. President Wilson of Wayne State University is a very accomplished cyclist. He rode his Carbent recumbent for two of the five days and a new Parlee road bike the other three days. We met at a recumbent event just after he got the Carbent early in 2015 and have done many centuries together since then.
Last year the Wayne Sate Warrior Road Tour was 4 days and 404 miles. This year the ride was 5 days and 515 miles. Both events were the most miles I have ever done on consecutive days.
And we rode pretty hard each day in order to get to the next town in time to clean up and prepare for the evening event, which is what the ride was all about.
It would be nice to say we are going to add another day and another hundred miles next year, but we're not getting any younger (early/mid 60's) and I think we pushed the mileage out as far as we could this year.
Both events have been incredible. Great riding throughout lower Michigan with some fantastic people. Definitely something I will never forget.

Way t'go, Don.  Don't let your age limit your interest or goals.
