I have a SRAM Red compact double 50/34 on one Carbon Aero and a SRAM 1x on the other. I see the new CA3.0’s running compact doubles with 11/42 eleven speed in back using modified idler system.

How do you like the new gears? How much did they cost? And do you have any pics? Thank you Greg

Changed the 9-speed to an 11-speed. I put a 52/36 front and a 11-28 rear cassette and love it. Often before the gaps between gear ratios were too large, as one shift would go from too easy to too hard. RPM changes now around 3-5 which i like, and my speeds are also much faster than last year; about 1.5 mph faster for a century as now i can easily stay in my comfy rpm range of 90-95 between shifts. Keep in mind I am a flat-lander, no mountains or any real hills where I live. It now takes the same effort to go up a 7% grade as it used to take on a 10% grade, but I am OK with that. Had to switch from twist to bar end shifters, for the 11-speed, no big deal once you get used to it.
