Wheel/tire options for Corsa SS 650C?

Apologies if this is a repeat question. I tried some obvious search terms but nothing turned up so...

I saw a Bacchetta Corsa SS frame set for sale. The price is right and it might make a fun project. However... the ad says it's designed for 650C wheels. As far as I can tell the selection of tires in that size is very limited, and includes only very narrow racing tires. 23mm isn't going to work on roads around here!

So, does anyone know if it's possible to fit a more common wheel size on the Corsa SS? 26", 650B or 700C would all be fine by me.

Thanks!

Many have put 26 wheels on the SS frame but you'll need road hubs 130mm which are hard to find without a custom build. Depending on your brakes, you may have enough reach but they may also need to be changed.

I just refurbed a SS this winter and went through some of same questions. Some run Tellus 28 mm tires which are 650's. I was amazed however at how nice the 23's worked.

I wasn't aware of the Tellus 571x28 tires, thanks! If I had a set of 650c wheels, I would try this option out first.

Since I would have to invest in a pair of wheels for the bike anway, I think a better long term option might be going with 26" with road hubs.

Glad I could help you out a little. I'm still getting used to mine. Hadn't ridden a high racer in about 3 years and took a little bit to get back in the swing. Illinois weather hasn't been cooperating either with lots of cold wind.

Thanks gmrviper! I just noticed that it's a medium frame based on the boom length. I was just about able to squeeze onto a medium demo model at Zach Kaplan's shop for a ride, but I think I'll have to keep looking for a size large.

Ok no problem! Happy searching! Corsa's are great bikes, I just wanted something that would take larger tires.

Also im not sure how tall you are but I am 6' and this frame fit me great.

6'4". On the medium demo bike, the seat had to go all the back. I like to recline too, so the weight distribution would be heavily biased towards the rear wheel.
