50,000 miles and counting

The ride today put me over 50,000 total miles.  I will probably have around 51,500 total miles at the end of the year.

    That's really cool.
I have over 17k on my CA2.  I put almost 3k on the CA1, and around 10k on the Corsa and I didn't keep track of miles when I rode the Giro20, but somewhere around 3-5k.

I hope this doesn't sound like bragging.....it really isn't meant that way.
I'm sure that a lot of riders on this forum have ridden considerably more
    miles that I have ridden.
I've been keeping a cycling log since 1979.
I rode DFs from 1979 until 1997; since then, I have ridden only recumbent
bikes ( 3 of them were Bacchettas ) and one recumbent tadpole trike.
Total miles ridden to date:  120,000.
I'm 74 years old, and I hope to add to that mileage total.  Another 5,000
would be like riding around the world 5 times.........
My current favorite recumbent ( I now have 4 ) is my "hot rod" Bella.

    Recumbents owned since 1997:
    Vision R-42 SWB
    Vision R-82 Tandem
    Wizwheelz Trike (Current)
ER Gold Rush LWB (Current )
    Bacchetta Carbon Aero 1.0
    Bacchetta Carbon Aero 2.0
    ER Titanium Javelin LWB (Current)
    Bacchetta Bella LWB (Current)

living up here in the AZ mountains has taken some toll on `miles ridden.'  But as of yesterday, this year I've climbed 330,000 feet in 6,800 miles.  I've intentionally kept the feet climbed lower this year; training for longer, `flatter' courses.

In the past five years my mileage is 31,164 and feet climbed is 1,900,848.  If possible I may crack 2 million feet climbed by the end of the year.

    Don,

I hope the Michigan weather will cooperate so you can beat your record.

The figure for the past 5 years are what RWGPS tells me.

I'm reminded of what I was told as a high school student by my English teacher: If you put monkey in front of a typewriter for an infinity of time that monkey will sooner or later type the perfect novel.

    Me?  I'm inclined toward gerbils.

Looks like I'm averaging about 9330 miles and 380,000 feet of elevation gain per year, the last 4 years.
I get about 1000 miles per year in my car :-)
Helps when you work at home and live where you can ride all year.

    Tim,

I ride my Corsa to my office weather permitting.  My car miles are not as  low as  yours, but 5,000 miles per year is probably lower than most individuals.

My best estimate for elevation gain is 275,000 to 300,000 feet per year.
