Looks like Dan DNF'd. He still covered 450 km in th first 24 hours of the race. Great effort Dan and Crew. Hope all is well with you and look forward to hearing about your experience in Ireland.

Thanks.  A more complete update in my blog in a few days or weeks but ... successive 15 - 20% 100 yard inclines on top of two mile climbs is what did me in.  Although I visited Ireland in April to recce the course I didn't even remotely encounter these steep inclines.  Had to do with me going to what was reported to be the `worst' climbs.  Turns out that they were the most `pretty' sections.  My video records of these sections showed tops 11%.  Insufficient information.  My fault.  Had I seen the 15-20% climbs I would never have even registered.  Great organization.  Much credit to racers.  NOT recumbent territory.  Splains why there are no recumbent stores in Ireland.  More later in my blog.  On to World Time Trials in Borrego Springs and Hoodoo 300 next August.
